STUDENT UNDERTAKING
NIF GLOBAL Andheri-Bandra is a franchise of NIF Global Corporate and is bound by the agreement with NIF Ltd and any changes in or by the NIF GLOBAL Corporate will also be binding on NIF GLOBAL Andheri-Bandra and the same is understood clearly by the parent and student with its implications. The course/program undertaken are clearly understood and chosen at the applicant’s discretion.
1. Attendance:
- Students are required to maintain 80% attendance on a monthly basis failing which the Director is empowered to suspend or expel a student from the institution.
- Local field or local industrial visit/guest lecture etc. is a mandatory part of the curriculum. The institute is liable to take strict action against students for non-participation.
- Students must submit assignments etc. as per the schedule/timeline announced failing which the Institute/Faculty has full authority to take disciplinary action.
- Any student who does not fulfill the attendance/course requirements she/he will not get any certificate or any refund of fees thereupon. The decision of the Centre shall be final and binding on the student.
- Should the attendance be below the required level of 80%, the institute is not responsible to teach/help students cover the course.
- Student missing without leave permission, the Director is empowered to suspend or expel a student from the institution.
- If a student is missing any lecture due to any reason whatsoever (e.g. sickness, traveling etc.), no lecture or topic will be repeated.
2. Discipline:
- The college gives utmost priority to discipline. The student is bound to follow the rules and regulations of the college and maintain strict discipline.
- The timings of the institute are to be strictly followed; a maximum grace period of 5 minutes will be allowed from the session start time beyond which the student will be sent back/marked absent.
- Every student shall conduct herself/himself in such a way as to cause no disturbance to the working of the classes or to fellow students.
- No eatables/chewing gums are allowed inside the classrooms/labs.
- Under disciplinary action, the director is empowered to suspend or even expel a student from the institution in the interests of the institution.
- Discipline of the institute is of prime importance and parents must ensure their child/children strictly adhere to the rules and regulations.
- In case of breach of discipline, a maximum of 2 warnings will be given after which the institute reserves the right to dismiss the student from the institute without any obligations or refund of any fees.
- Students are not permitted the use of mobile phones inside the class. Students are bound to put their mobile phones strictly on off mode before they enter the class. If they are found using the same/mobile phone rings in class, it is a disciplinary violation and they will be asked to leave the class and go home.
3. Curriculum:
Please be notified that the course curriculum is entirely at the discretion of the institute and the portion/assignments/methodology of teaching/teachers etc. may be modified during the course towards the betterment of the course.
4. Fees:
- Fees have to be paid by the student as per the schedule given at the time of admission.
- Fees once paid are non-refundable irrespective of the reason the student is opting to discontinue from the course.
- Payment of fees beyond the due date will incur delayed payment charges of minimum Rs. 10,000/-. Such delayed payment charges must be submitted along with the fee payment and not later.
- In case of delay in payment of fees beyond a week, the student will not be allowed to attend class.
- Submission of post-dated cheques is mandatory for all installments of yearly fees. These must be submitted at the time of admission in the first year and before the beginning of the academic year in subsequent years of the course.
- It is entirely the student’s responsibility to collect the receipt once the fee installments get deposited from time to time. The students must carefully maintain these receipts & photocopies as they may be called upon at any time of the year for accounts checks.
- GST is as applicable by the government and is subject to change as per the government’s discretion.
- Corporate royalty and any other fees applied by the corporate are subject to change as per the discretion of NIF Corporate. Any increment in fees is to be borne by the student.
- Overall fees are to increase by approximately 10-15% every year.
- Students have to bear any change in the amount mentioned on the fees structure.
5. Examination:
- In the event of continued poor performance in class/internal tests/less than 80% of class attendance, the Director/Centre Head has the authority to withhold the student's hall ticket and/or permit the student from writing the examinations.
- Grades issued by the institution are final. The institution will not entertain requests for change in grades.
- Students caught cheating in the examination/class test will either be marked absent for the day, disallowed from giving examinations/tests further, and/or suspended/expelled.
- Internal portfolios carry weightage. The students not submitting regular submissions on time may not be allowed for final examinations.
- Marking pattern will carry internal assessment 40% weightage, 20% for class performance, attendance, regularity in submissions, and extracurricular activities apart from the curriculum (students are advised to take active part in all activities conducted by the department), and final examination will have 40% of weightage that makes altogether 100%.
6. Certificate:
- Students will be awarded the certificate only if the course is fully and satisfactorily completed as per the requirements of the institution, all assignments, submissions, tests, and examinations etc. are cleared & the institute fee arrears and delayed payment charges are cleared.
- Students discontinuing with the course at any phase will not be awarded a certificate/completion letter.
- Any student once opting for a particular program with the institute cannot change this program during the course for any reason whatsoever. No course can be downgraded; meaning in case a student has enrolled herself/himself for a two-year program and decides to discontinue after one year, the student will not be given any certification. The institute considers such a case as a dropout.
- For the student who has successfully completed their course and all criteria, it is the student’s responsibility to collect the certificate within 6 months of the date with prior appointment beyond which the institute will not be responsible to maintain the student’s certificate.
7. For Students Pursuing the 3/4-Year Degree Program:
- The university offers a distance education program in fashion designing & interior designing.
- NIF Andheri-Bandra is in no manner responsible for any decisions/rules set by the University or any changes announced/practiced by the University or government policies. Hence all correspondences/obligations and matters are to be taken up with the University directly.
- NIF Andheri-Bandra has the right to change the university as per their discretion and not binding.
- The University admission must be done independently by the student. NIF Andheri-Bandra will guide the student for the procedure and correspondence.
- The marksheets and degree certificates are dispatched by the university; if any delay must be directly coordinated with the university.
8. For Students Pursuing Courses Elsewhere Along with NIF Andheri-Bandra:
- In case of a clash of examination dates between NIF Andheri-Bandra course and course pursued by the student elsewhere, NIF Andheri-Bandra will hold examination at an extra cost per subject.
- Parents will be required to meet with the Director/Centre Head along with a letter stating the above matter and a photocopy of the examination hall ticket of the other college/university.
- Dates announced for such special examinations will not change.
9. Placement:
Students will be provided with complete assistance in placements only if the course is fully and satisfactorily completed as per the requirements of the institution, all assignments, submissions, tests, and examinations etc. are cleared & the institute fee arrears and delayed payment charges are cleared.
10. Fashion Shows & Industrial Visit:
NIF Andheri-Bandra is associated with various Design platforms from time to time. Any participation in the same, the rules and conditions for participation will be informed to the students accordingly. Fashion shows and industrial visits are charged separately.
11. Miscellaneous:
- Student is expected to take care of herself/himself and their belongings in the Institute.
- Students must check their belongings before they exit the Institute. The Institute will not be responsible for the safety of the student's belongings. The CCTV cameras are only for real-time observation for discipline and hence students are sincerely advised to take care of their belongings in the institute.
- Health concerns, if any, need to be addressed by the student and/or their parents. The institute is not equipped with any medical emergencies and will not be responsible in any way.
- It is the parent's responsibility to check the performance of their child/children with the institute on a regular basis.
- The fee structure per year of the program, its inclusions and exclusions, the fee payment dates, course content, and all other details relating to the course have been clearly understood by the applicant and the parent/guardian.
- No transfer is allowed midway through the course; transfer for genuine relocations is possible only to other NIF centers located outside of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane as NIF corporate does not allow inter-city transfer and such an out-of-city transfer is only allowed after successful completion of the current academic year.
- Students are strongly advised to have a laptop.
- Selection for any implementation team will be based on merit and the institute’s decision will be final and binding on all.
12. Pandemic:
It is a must for every student to get vaccinated with both doses of an anti-COVID vaccine as prescribed on the COWIN app by the Govt of India.
13. Affiliations:
- By virtue of being a franchisee of NIF Global, NIF Andheri-Bandra has received an affiliation with NSDC and Medhavi Skill University.
- NIF Andheri-Bandra has no control on the rules, regulations, functioning. In case of any changes made by the Skill Development Board, the same will be applicable and binding upon the student.
- The student and parent understand all the above before taking admission at NIF Andheri-Bandra.
All decisions taken by the Director/Centre Head will be final and binding on all the students.
